Educational and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution
- 10 + years of experience in commercial and industrial construction in project controls (mostly in scheduling)
- Prefer experience in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Experience in other related industries are acceptable
Scope Responsibility
The Project Controls Scheduler will be responsible for handling a broad range of projects ranging in dollar value and complexity from simple to complex manufacturing retrofit projects. The scope of responsibilities span from liaison with corporate management to initial development of project schedules, through managing and objectively reporting project schedule status to senior management. Experience in commissioning and validation will be a critical skill.
Position Summary
The project controls scheduler will be responsible for developing, with the project team, project planning and scheduling documents, assisting in budgeting and change management, schedule risk analysis, cash flow analysis. In addition, he/she will review and analyze engineering and contractor schedules, bids, change orders, and physical engineering/construction progress, etc. The project controls scheduler will be responsible for tracking and controlling schedules as well as engineer/contractor schedules.
Technical Ability Requirements: The Project Controls Scheduler must have a strong technical knowledge in schedule management in construction projects. In addition, the individual must have strong analytical skills for schedule analysis and initial schedule development and risk analysis. The individual must have a good knowledge of computer systems using excel, data base programs, scheduling software, spreadsheets, power point, word processing and e-mail. Knowledge of scheduling software must include both Primavera and Microsoft Project. The individual must have strong skills in leadership, communication, and problem solving.
Functions (Duty / Accountability)
- Assist in the preparation of project funding documents.
- Reviewing and analyzing engineer/contractor bids, change notices, schedule impact
- Evaluate engineer/contractors physical progress.
- Develop, review and manage commissioning, startup, and validation schedules for pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.
- Manage, and monitor project schedules.
- Review, develop, and manage engineering/construction cost forecasts for remaining work.
- Prepare monthly project status reports for management (Review, Analyze, Forecast)
- Lead risk analysis reviews, manage risk model.
