Educational and Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or engineering, or equivalent mix of education.
Typically up to 6 years experience in project estimating, and project controls with experience in managing small size projects in the pharmaceutical or a related industry.
Position Summary
Under general direction, provide project controls services on multiple small to mid size capital projects.
Technical Ability Requirements:
The Project Controls Analyst must have a technical knowledge in construction cost management. In addition, the individual must have strong analytical skills for estimate analysis, risk analysis and benchmarking project costs. The individual must have a good understanding of all types of estimating from conceptual through definitive construction estimates and must have a good knowledge of computer systems using excel, data base programs, spreadsheets, power point, word processing and e-mail. The individual must have good skills in leadership, communication, and problem solving.
Functions (Duty / Accountability)
- Knowledge of general building and site construction and estimating.
- General analysis of arch/engineer, vendor and contractor estimates.
- Preparation of capital project conceptual estimates.
- Evaluate cost and schedule impact of proposed value engineering alternatives.
- Support PM with RFQ preparation, such as bid format, unit and alternate prices.
- Analyze and compare bid results.
- Analyze contractor and arch/engineer change orders for scope, pricing and overall correctness.
- Monitor scope changes and estimate related costs.
- Maintain a comprehensive budget report.
- Support procure-to-pay process.
