Topside Project Construction Engineer

As a Construction Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering the engineering output for the construction work scope of modification requests, ensuring alignment with technical specifications, budget, and planning. In collaboration with the Offshore Construction Supervisor, you will identify labour, materials, tools, and services, as well as develop the execution strategy for offshore construction works.

Your duties will include assisting in answering OQs and the drafting, checking, and completion of Offshore Work Packages (OWPs) to support offshore construction activities. You will also assist in the preparation of work orders and purchase requests in Maximo. In case work is subcontracted to third parties, you will act as focal point.

You will ensure that all deliverables meet the specified quality standards. Additionally, you will act as the administrator/coordinator for the distribution and filing of close-out packages and related internal/external correspondence for specific works. This includes reviewing, editing, approving, compiling, and accepting as-built documentation and correspondence. You will ensure thorough document review with the support of discipline engineers, HSEQ&RC and the asset team.

Requirements

An Engineer with strong communication skills and keen attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical.
• Experience with topsides FSPO work; typical brownfield parts like crude oil separator, water injection, gas compressors, etc. as well as vales, rotating equipment.
• Familiar with UK legislation and requirements for FPSO’s.
• Worked on yards/sites before.
• Flexiblity, long term assignment @ yard with some home leave to host country (depending on project needs).
• Engineering, or Marine Engineering, or a Technical College (MBO) diploma supplemented with relevant training and experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in preparing offshore construction works.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

For the projects EPC phase our client needs a topsides project engineer as contractor on the yard and/or at the topsides fabrication yard (depending on our contract setup with the yard). This PE will support with design, build and coordinate our new topside for our FPSO.
